Our History
Since 1963.
In the Appenzell region.
Our roots date back to 1963. Ever since then, we’ve been turning beauty dreams into reality in Appenzell. Hundreds of brands, thousands of formulas, and countless people we’ve made happy with our products.
What has never changed: Our signature style. Our discretion. The understanding that every product belongs to a brand that we must—and want to—do justice to. We love what we do. Every detail counts—every texture, every scent. That is exactly what is appreciated.

ISO 22716 is the standard, not the goal. Every batch is produced as if it were intended for our own family.

What we produce stays between us and you. NDAs are a given, and we only mention clients with their permission.

1963
Founding of Intracosmed AG
The roots of our company. It was in Bühler that the foundation was laid for what is now Swifiss.
1998
Focus on Private Label
The strategic move toward becoming a full-service partner. From now on, we offer development and production under one roof for brands that want quality without having to run their own factory.
2004
Relocation to Urnäsch
Intracosmed is expanding and moving from Bühler to the Appenzell hinterland. The new facility in Urnäsch provides space for the laboratory, production, and packaging all under one roof.
2014
Sheet Mask Manufacturer
A dedicated production line for bio-cellulose and hydrogel sheet masks is being established. It is one of the few of its kind in Europe.
2019
Acquisition by Swifiss
Swifiss is taking over the factory. New leadership, a fresh perspective, the same values. The foundation of over 55 years of experience remains.
2020
Innovation During the Pandemic
Swifiss acts quickly and develops a premium disinfectant. The crisis proves that this manufacturer is capable of more than just cosmetics.
2026
100+ active brands
Over a hundred brands rely on Swifiss. From up-and-comers to established names, from local to international. And yet, it’s still the same workshop where it all began.
